It is with profound sadness and immense gratitude that the Humane Society of Sumner County remembers Aaron Kosei Hudanish, who passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on June 18, 1982, in Monterey, California, Aaron dedicated his life to his passions, leaving an indelible mark on our organization, our community, and the lives of countless animals and people.
Our Champion for Animals
Aaron was truly a loved figure in the world of animal welfare, and his legacy is deeply intertwined with the Humane Society of Sumner County. For an remarkable 16 years, he served as our dedicated Director, guiding our mission with unwavering commitment and boundless compassion. His dedication to the well-being of animals continued as he later took on a vital role at Paws and Claws for the past three years. Aaron's work was far more than a profession; it was a testament to his profound love for animals, especially his cherished pugs, Mattie and Oliver, whom he regarded as his own children. He was instrumental in shaping our organization and touching the lives of every creature that passed through our doors.
A Life of Enthusiasm and Connection
A proud graduate of Hendersonville High School in 2000, Aaron showcased his talents on the baseball field, a passion for sports that extended throughout his life as he actively participated in various athletic activities.
Aaron is survived by his loving parents, Scott and Tammy
Hudanish, and Linda Dodd. His laughter and spirit will forever be remembered by his brothers, Tony Reyes (Rachel) and Zack Bond (Erica), and his niece, Michelle Reyes. He was supported by his grandparents, Terry Fitzhugh (Nolan) and Joe Delk, and shared a special bond with his great-aunt and uncle, Akiyo and Sei Sugiyama. Aaron's life was further enriched by his deep connection with his longtime girlfriend, Tabitha Tidwell, who stood by him through every moment.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, George and Masako Akamine, and his grandmother, Sue Delk. Their cherished memories will continue to inspire and guide all who remember him.
